BEGC-107 encompasses English literature from the 17th and 18th centuries. It provides pupils with knowledge of the historical periods known as “The Renaissance,” “Jacobean Era,” “Caroline and Restoration,” and “Augustan Era.” This course comprises four components: Block I: John Webster’s play “The Duchess of Malfi” Block II: John Milton’s works included in this block include Lycidas, Sonnet XIX, L’ Allegro, and II Penseroso. Block III: Analysis of John Dryden’s Mac Flecknoe Block IV focuses on Alexander Pope’s poem “The Rape of the Lock.” BEGC-107 offers pupils the opportunity to explore and comprehend the various aspects of British Drama.
